Located four km north of the Goolwa township and 78 km south of Adelaide, (34 nautical miles by air), Goolwa Airport is situated on 73.6 hectares (182 acres) of freehold land. Established in 1975, it is now a respected destination and refuelling stop for general aviation pilots.
Goolwa Airport boasts a 24 hour, all bitumen runway that is suitable for light and medium size piston or jet aircraft. The runway and taxi lights are Pilot activated. There is a large paved apron area in front of the Office/Terminal, and the refuelling facility has AVGAS, Jet A1 and 98 octane MOGAS on bowsers.
The modern brick terminal facility has a reception area with lounge, briefing rooms, several offices, toilets and kitchen. Other facilities include 50 hangars with a total capacity for over 100 aircraft.
